Jasper Jewelry

The stone chalcedony appears in Pliny the Elder’s “Naturalis Historia”, in particular, the lovely variation known as jaspis or jasper, meaning “spotted or speckled stone.” Jasper jewelry has particularly striking decorative bands and is thought to nurture its wearer, each unique stone reminiscent of a field of poppies or perhaps the sweep of the ocean, canyons of red rock, the timeless sands of the desert, the gold of sunshine.
