Isharya was in town over the weekend to present our latest collections at the iconic Tranoi tradeshow. As the fashion capital of the world we thank Paris for some of our favorite things including Louboutins, Laduree, Birkin bags and for its uber-chic show going denizens, especially Ms. Roitfeld– who is pictured on the way to Alexander Wang’s debut for Balenciaga.
Christian Dior and Balenciaga started the week (and continued the theme from all of fashion month) showing the cool dichotomy of mixing black and white– the ying and yang balancing Spring’s coloroful collections.
The “City Of Light” is always inspiring us and has a huge selection of adorable sidewalk cafes, dreamy shopping destinations and killer views. We thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite spots and insight on one of our favorite cities. Enjoy!
1. WHAT TO PACK
Parisians love to invest in one knock-out piece and wear it over ever again. This blazer from Paris based designer Esteban Cortazar will multi-task from day (paired with your skinny jeans) to night (over an Alaïa gown).
French women are infamous for showing the world a million ways to wear scarves. This frothy scarf from Erdem is one of our faves of the season.
LUXE Guide Paris Edition
These chic little travel guides from LUXE are an insider’s view on the best places to eat, sleep and play in the world’s most illustrious cities. Make sure to pick up the Paris edition for great tips on unknown vintage shops and secret private luxury apartment rentals.
Ankle Strap Stilettos
Ankle-strap stilettos are the defining shoes of the season but French women have been rocking them forever. This nude pair from Valentino is sleek with a touch of rock and roll edge.
2. WHERE TO STAY
Legendary French fashion designer Christian Lacroix defined haute living when he put his whimsical touch on this magical hotel located in the heart of Paris, in Saint Germain just steps away from the Musée d’Orsay. Fashionistas will appreciate the effervescent feel of the rooms featuring wall to ceiling graphic wallpaper custom linens and more designed by the haute couturier.
3. WHERE TO SHOP
Paris is undoubtedly the fashion capital of the world with designer shopping destinations at every corner. But, if you’re looking for something unique and highly curated boutique, with an infectiously fun atmosphere then head to Colette. Understated-luxury with a cool and playful twist is Colette’s forte with surprising finds from around the world, coupled with the latest designs from Paris and beyond.
And of Course….Where To Eat
Remember the second to last episode of Sex and The City when Carrie met with her beau’s Parisian ex? They were meeting at the super trendy and fabulous restaurant Kong. The killer views of the city are just as delicious as the French fare.
Finally, a trip to Paris is not complete without a trip to the vintage stores to snag a coveted Chanel, Dior or Hermes bags. Although they are a dime a dozen, one of our favorites is Marches De Catherine B located on 1 Rue Guisarde.
